My Ice Cream

Here's all my current ice cream flavours on my black board. Am I missing any good ones? Soon to come is gooseberry.

Back to Making Ice Cream

I'm back to making and selling ice cream now after the very quiet months of January and February. I'll be busy next month with a lot of markets so I guess I'll slow down a bit with my drawing.

Part three of 'California' will come out on March 1st and then the fourth and final part will come out about the 1st of April, hopefully...

A Review of my Ice Cream

Here's a review of my ice cream from Matt Badham at the Forbidden Planet Blog. It's the first review of my ice cream! Once again though I have given out the wrong flavour, I must be more careful as this happens quite often...

Brrr

Brrr. On mornings like this it is hard to get out of the house and go and sell things on a market outside all day. Luckily the weather went a lot more sunny later on, even though it was still very cold, and I had a really good day. That's the last of my markets this year so now I can have a break for Christmas. I'll try and get some drawing done too.

New Ice Cream Signs

I had to make some new ice cream signs as my last one was knackered by a torrential rain storm at Hoghton Tower this month. I haven't made them quite as fancy as they don't last that long.

New Ice Cream Sign

I've painted a new sign for my ice cream business. It's the same as the old sign, but bigger. I accidentally left the old sign at Nether Kellett Market on Sunday, which was a shame as it was only three days away from retirement.

I am Eating Ice Cream in the snow

Here I am eating ice cream in the snow at Hoghton Tower Farmers Market on Sunday, trying to drum up trade. I am pulling a silly face as it's cold. Ice cream sales were low but we sold out of our lovely black peas, so that was good. No more markets now till the 15th of January so I feel more Christmassy.

Look at my Cheese

I bought 10kg of cheese today to try and sell on my stall over the winter. It's lovely stuff. I have Creamy Lancashire, Crumbly Lancashire and Ewes Milk Cheese. Now I am a kind of cheesemonger.

Ice Cream Characters

I amused myself way too much making up these characters to put on a leaflet to help sell my ice creams. I especially like 'Sweet Potato' at the bottom right, due to its expression.

Foraging for Berries

I spent all day today picking whinberries in a quarry. It took ages to get a lot as they are very very tiny. There's a couple on their whinberry bush in the top photo. Nice and strong flavour though. They are for the rare and exclusive 'wild whinberry' ice cream which I will make next week. Free fruit is best.

News

Just heard that 'Goblin Hall' will be turning up on Monday or Tuesday. So that's good. I'll put it up on here when it arrives. It will be £3 with free postage to the UK and Europe. Add £1 for the rest of the world.

I'm doing Helmshore Farmers Market on Sunday, the weather forecast is bad though. I will have to see how selling ice cream in the rain will go... I've got a gazebo to put up to keep the rain off.

I was hoping to go to Caption at the end of the month and sell 'Goblin Hall' there, but I am too skint so am having to not bother again. Hopefully I'll go there next year.

Ice Cream

This weekend was finally the start of my business empire, 'Jackson's Home Made Ice Cream'. Here's my stall. I did two farmers markets, Appley Bridge on Saturday and Hoghton Tower on Sunday. They went very well, and hopefully I can do these two events every month from now on. I sold 100 ice creams over all, and had lots of nice comments. Thanks to everyone for being so friendly!

Selling ice cream in the sun is so much easier than selling comics at shows...

Hurray!

Hurray! I have finally booked my first famers market! It's on Saturday at Appley Bridge, which is a nice little place near Wigan. I am very relieved as my money has been going down recently and making me worry. Hopefully it'll be sunny and I can sell lots of ice-cream, which I have made loads of.

Ice Cream

I've been making lots of ice cream for the last few days to sell in the summer. These two need a bit more stirring yet. So far I have made rice pudding, gooseberry, earl grey tea and blackcurrant ice creams. Any suggestions for more types? It's nice to do some cooking after all the drawing I've been doing earlier in the year.
