Gin Palace 2
I had a new submission for 'Gin Palace 2' today from Brad Foster. Here's a little bit of one of the pages he sent in, they are one page stories so I don't want to show a whole one and give them away. There's still a month and a bit for submissions as I'd like to have them all in by the 1st October so I can stick them all in order and send it to the printers in time for Thought Bubble.
Have a look at how many comics Brad Foster has contributed too! It is amazing, he has listed them in pages from A - Z and there are comics under every letter of the alphabet.

Kyle Baddeley - Silent V Part Two
Kyle Baddeley has just brought out the second part of his 'Silent V' series. He is influenced by early Chester Brown (Ed the Happy Clown) and Gary Panter so if you like their stuff why not give it a go. The characters remind me a bit of the Sonic the Hedgehog computer game. His drawing has got a lot better since the first one, which is reviewed here by Rob Clough at TCJ (just above my 'Goblin Hall'). You can buy them at his website here or from Good Grief in Manchester.

Review of 'To Nail The Killer'
Here's a review of 'To Nail the Killer with all Efforts', one of my older comics, by Kyle who I traded comics with. He is drawing a cool and interesting comic called 'Silent V' and has just started a blog.
And here's a review of 'Train to Shanghai' I came across a few weeks ago. '365 zines a year' is reviewing a lot of interesting stuff, worth a look around.

Kolbeinn Karlsson - The Troll King
This is a great book, very highly recommended. It's one of the Top Shelf Swedish comics, I had ordered it in February but it just seems to have come out. Look at the second image, its great (there's a fold on it as its a two page spread so it looks much nicer in the book). It looks like it was drawn on flock or felt or something with felt tip pens, very interesting. The rest of the book is very clean with very bright colours. Reminds me a bit of Theo Ellsworth's work but in colour and with darker subject matter. I liked it a lot. It's a weird journey through fairy tales, forest creatures and monsters.
