'Goblin Hall' still on sale
As 'Goblin Hall' has moved off the front page of my blog I thought I'd mention again that it's for sale on my website. Only £3 with free postage to the UK and Europe. Add £1 for the rest of the world. I've still got lots of copies of 'Great Deeds Against the Dead' Parts 1 &2 there too, and some copies of 'Gin Palace 1' though that one has been selling well. Buy any three and ask for any another one for free. (Please put a note on the order of which one you would like for free). Thanks
Andrew Cheverton & Tim Keable - WEST Distance
This is the first part of the second volume of these comics about a cowboy. In this series he is fighting in the Northern Army in the American Civil War. This issue is setting up the story mainly as he writes a love letter to his wife Eloise and it fills in the back story so you don't have to have read the first volume to tell what's going on. I really like the artwork and the pacing on this story, that cover is very good isn't it. The artwork is full of lettraset style effects that must be done on the computer these days I guess, with lots of the drawing done with black and grey shapes. Its a very atmospheric style, and the landscapes are very good.
Buy it from here. I'll be interested to see what happens next in this tale.

Paul Rainey - There's No Time Like The Present 13
It's the end of an era as this is the last part of Paul Rainey's long comic book story. Go buy it here, if you are not already reading it, why not?
I read the whole thing through after searching around on my shelves for an hour to find all the issues and then read the final issue last night. I can't say much about it as I don't want to give away anything but it's great. Lots of questions are answered and it hangs together really well as a massive long story. I recommend catching up on the earlier ones before you read it so you can notice all the subtle things.

'The Gods Must Be Bastards' Page 30

'The Gods Must Be Bastards' Part of Page 29
Here's the top row of drawings from page 29 of 'The Gods Must Be Bastards'. I am feeling happier about this story. It took me the first twenty pages to get into drawing it but now the drawings look ok to me. I'm going to redraw a lot of the first pages and then I should be reasonably happy. This time I'm going to draw the whole thing and then do lots of editing and see if I can get a better story that way. It's going to be about sixty pages long or so. I think I'll bring it out as one big comic as it seems pointless now to split it into two.

I did a sketch of Marvin from 'Dungeon' for the Forbidden Planet's Bastille Day coverage of French comics today.

Foraging for Berries
I spent all day today picking whinberries in a quarry. It took ages to get a lot as they are very very tiny. There's a couple on their whinberry bush in the top photo. Nice and strong flavour though. They are for the rare and exclusive 'wild whinberry' ice cream which I will make next week. Free fruit is best.

News
Just heard that 'Goblin Hall' will be turning up on Monday or Tuesday. So that's good. I'll put it up on here when it arrives. It will be £3 with free postage to the UK and Europe. Add £1 for the rest of the world.
I'm doing Helmshore Farmers Market on Sunday, the weather forecast is bad though. I will have to see how selling ice cream in the rain will go... I've got a gazebo to put up to keep the rain off.
I was hoping to go to Caption at the end of the month and sell 'Goblin Hall' there, but I am too skint so am having to not bother again. Hopefully I'll go there next year.
